    Varian Medical Systems ARIA Version 13.6 to Enhance Care Delivery and Patient Experience

    ANNISTON, AL (March 16, 2015) – Radiation Oncology at Regional Medical Center (RMC) is the first cancer program in the United States, and the third world-wide, to upgrade to Varian Medical Systems’ newest electronic medical record (EMR) system, ARIA Oncology Information Systems (version 13.6). This integrated program will supplement existing Varian systems, such as the Eclipse Treatment Planning System, to package and facilitate the complete radiation oncology experience for patients and their RMC care team.

  • RMC Health and Wellness Center


    Regional Medical Center is proud to celebrate the opening of our Occupational Health and Wellness Center. The new facility was designed to serve the at-work health care needs of local government agency employees and businesses with prompt medical attention for illness or injury occurring on the job. We had our Open House on Wednesday, February 11th excited to begin serving our partnering companies. RMC’s Occupational Health and Wellness Center provides quality, timely care to ensure prompt service and return to health and work. Located in The Tyler Center, the Center offers physician and nursing services, lab testing and diagnostic imaging, as well as employment physicals, certified drug screens, hearing conservation services, ergonomics, and employee wellness education and screenings. As part of RMC, the Center gives patients access to 24-hour emergency care and its full range of specialty services and technologies.

    The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer Recognizes High Quality Care for Cancer Patients

    ANNISTON, AL (January 26, 2015)—Regional Medical Center (RMC) recently received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC). This national honor was awarded to a select group of only 74 U.S. health care facilities, including only two in Alabama, with accredited cancer programs for Commission on Cancer surveys performed in 2013. This recognition acknowledges cancer programs that achieve excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients.

Falls are the number one causes of injury in Americans aged 55 and over, and many of the falls are associated with dizziness or a balance disorder. Regional Medical Center has combined their clinical staff and state-of-the-art equipment to offer advanced diagnostic and treatment services to patients who suffer from symptoms like dizziness, vertigo, unsteadiness, or loss of balance.

    The UAB Cancer Center announced Tuesday that RMC will be one of the first affiliate hospitals in the new UAB Cancer Care Network program. As a network affiliate, RMC will be able to collaborate with UAB physicians on diagnosis and treatment, cancer patients will have access to more clinical trials and RMC staff will receive education and training on breaking medical innovations.
