William B. Bohannon, D.O.
Dr. Bohannon is a native of the Anniston area. He is a graduate of the Anniston Family Medicine and Residency Program. He joined the faculty in August, 2005. Dr. Bohannon received his medical training at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in West Virginia. Prior to medical school, Dr. Bohannon spent six years in the US Navy as a hospital corpsmen.





Nelson W. Cook, M.D.

Program Director
Graduated from the Medical College of Georgia. He finished his residency at the former Anniston Family Practice Residency Program and opened his practice in the Wellborn community of Anniston in 1987. Prior to becoming Program Director, Dr. Cook served as Associate Program Director of the Anniston Family Practice Residency Program for two years. Dr. Cook is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.





C. Neal Canup, M.D.

He began private practice in the Golden Springs area, and then served 15 years as Director of the former Anniston Family Practice Residency Program. He currently serves as Clinical Professor of the Department of Family Practice School of Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Canup is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is serving on the board of directors with Blue Cross-Blue Shield, served as president of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, and worked with Alabama Child Caring Foundation. He also has a distinguished record of service and leadership with many Anniston community organizations.





David A. Chalk, M.D.

Graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the former Anniston Family Practice Residency Program and opened his office in the Golden Springs community of Anniston in 1988. Dr. Chalk is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.





Ty Keith Stansell, M.D.

Graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. He finished his residency at the Medical Center East Family Practice Residency Program in June 1994. He moved to Anniston and joined Anniston Family Practice, P.C. in December 1997. Dr. Stansell is certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
