Emergency Department
Designated a Level II Trauma Center, RMC’s Emergency Department provides urgent and critical care for patients suffering from a variety of injuries and illnesses. Nearly 60,000 citizens come each year to RMC’s Emergency Room, which is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by one or two Board Certified physicians, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. RMC's Emergency Room is the second busiest in Alabama, with an on-site rescue helicopter.
To best meet patients’ needs, RMC asks that visits to our Emergency Department be of an urgent nature or as directed by your doctor. Otherwise, please schedule an appointment with your doctor. If you do not have a doctor, please click here for RMC’s Physician Finder services.
RMC’s Emergency Department is located on 10th Avenue East with a separate entrance and parking lot. Click here for directions.
