Care Team

The Medical Staff
The physician who admits you is responsible for directing your care while you are in the hospital. Your physician, as the coordinator for your treatment program, should be consulted if you have questions about your illness.

The Nursing Staff
The nursing staff will care for you as ordered by your physician(s).

The hospital maintains a staff of full-time registered dietitians to meet your dietary needs during your stay. If you have questions about your meals or diet, call extension 5273.

Your room is cleaned daily by a member of the housekeeping staff. If there is a housekeeping problem in your room, tell your nurse, and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.

Volunteers contribute many hours of service to the hospital. They supplement the services of the hospital staff in many ways and can be identified by their name badges. Volunteers deliver flowers and mail to patient rooms throughout the day.

Social Workers
Social workers are assigned to each patient care area and provide assistance to help patients and family members deal with financial, social and emotional problems that relate to illness or hospitalization. Members of the department work with patients and families to help deal with the impact of long term illnesses and rehabilitation. They are also involved in discharge planning. Listings of private duty nurses, nurses aides and adult sitter services for discharged patients are available through the Social Services Department at 5265.

The hospital has access to interpreters for a number of foreign languages should a patient require it. Please check with your nurse for more information.

Chaplain Services
Members of the Chaplain Service are available to visit with you upon request. They may also stop by your room to see if you need anything.
