Family members and friends are encouraged to visit patients at RMC. Please adhere to RMC’s visitation hours and guidelines.
RMC offers a large number of private rooms. Available on each unit are a varied number of recliner chairs for visitors who stay the night.
There are specially designated waiting areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the lobby. During certain hours, volunteers are available in the Surgery Center to keep family members informed about the progress of surgery. Volunteers also are available during certain hours in the Intensive Care waiting area to assist family members.
Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients. On the Intensive Care and Psychiatric Unit, please check with the Unit Manager or Charge Nurse regarding any gifts for patients.
Free parking for patients and visitors is available in the lot directly across from the hospital’s main entrance, outside the Personnel Wing and in the parking deck. Patients and visitors are cautioned not to park in reserved areas or other designated areas. Please be sure to lock your car.
The Gift Shop, located on the third floor of the hospital by the Main Entrance, is open from 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and on Sunday afternoon. The shop has gift items, jewelry, magazines, greeting cards, balloons, snacks, toiletries, plants, and flowers.
The chapel is located on the third floor off the lobby. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer and meditation.
For the hearing impaired, a telecommunications device is available to help hearing impaired patients or for patients who want to communicate with a hearing impaired relative or friend. Arrangements can be made to have a person who uses sign language help a hearing impaired or deaf patient. Special call buttons and closed captioned TV also are available.
While we encourage family members and friends to visits patients at RMC, we are most concerned about patient care and comfort.

The main entrance and Women's and Children's Pavilion are closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. During this time visitors must enter through the Emergency Department.
Regular Unit: 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.
Maternity Unit: New mothers may receive visitors between 8 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Children 12 years old or less will not be allowed to visit anywhere on the OB Unit. Siblings of the newborn may visit as long as they are NOT sick and must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient. Siblings 12 years old or less will not be allowed to stay the night.
Adults with any flu-like symptoms or any symptoms that could be contagious will not be allowed to visit.
Regional Psychiatric Services: Please call the unit before visiting at extension 5564.
Intensive Care Unit: The following times are the scheduled visiting hours: 6:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., 2:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Pediatric Unit: Parents may visit anytime. No children under the age of 12 may visit.
Quiet Time is for the benefit and healing of our patients. Nine p.m. will end visiting hours for the day, we encourage one care giver per patient to stay and participate in the care of their loved one. All other visitors may exit through the 3rd floor lobby of the main hospital or the emergency room located on the 2nd floor. At 9:00 P.M. the main entrance of both the hospital and the Women’s Pavilion will be secured for the safety of the patients, their care givers and the staff. These entrances will re-open at 5:00 A.M. The ER entrance remains open twenty-four hours a day.
Visitors may be limited at the request or in the interest of the patient. Please respect these requests.
- Each patient is allowed two visitors at any given time unless limits have been requested.
- Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and may visit immediate family members only.
- In semi-private rooms or wards, only visitors of the same sex may stay overnight with patients.
- Patients should not visit other rooms or from bed-to-bed in the wards.
- Before food is brought to patients, please get approval from the charge nurse.
- Shirts and shoes must be worn when visiting RMC.
